Click here to see if your vehicle is eligible for a Georgia title.

  • A completed MVD tag and/or title application (Form MV-1) - typed, hand printed or electronically completed and printed in the vehicle owner's full legal name and signed by the vehicle owner. If jointly owned, each owner's full legal name, valid driver's license number and signature is required. An individual's full legal name is his/her complete name as it appears on his/her valid driver's license. For individuals, enter each owner's valid driver's license number in the spaces provided on this application. Click on any form name and/or number on this page to electronically complete it for printing, signing and submission. This application can be used to apply for both a title and a license plate at your County Tag's Office. If all owner(s) go in person to their County Tag's Office with their valid driver's license, the required documents, and any applicable fees and taxes, this application can be completed and printed for your signature(s) and processing.
  • Original valid title, statement of origin, or registration certificate from a non-title state or country must accompany your title application. This document must be either issued in your name or properly assigned to you using your full legal name.
  • A completed Certification of Inspection, Form T-22B - ‘typed, electronically completed and printed or hand printed in blue or black ink and signed. This form must be completed and signed by either a Georgia law enforcement officer or a County Tag Agent or his or her designee after making a visual inspection of your vehicle's serial plate. Altered or incomplete forms cannot be accepted. This form is only needed with a 1986 or newer year model vehicle that is currently registered in a state or country that does not issue titles. This state does not issue titles for 1985 or older year model vehicles based on a registration certificate from a non-title state or country.
  • $18.00 title fee. Pay all fees due with cash, check or money order made payable to the office processing your application, the Department of Revenue (state) or the Office of the Tax Commissioner (county). Please do not remit cash through the mail! Contact your County Tag Office for other acceptable methods of payment.
  • $l0.00 title penalty is due if you fail to apply for a Georgia title within ninety (90) days of the vehicle's purchase or acquisition date. This penalty does not apply when your vehicle is currently titled in your name(s) in another state or country.
  • An additional $10.00 title penalty is due If you previously applied for a Georgia title for this vehicle and your application was returned requesting additional action before title issuance and compliance has not been made within sixty (60) days of the accompanying letter's date.
