What is needed to obtain a Georgia title in an
insurance company's name for a stolen vehicle that has not
been recovered?
To apply for a stolen un-recovered vehicle title, when a Georgia
title is required, the insurance company must submit the following
to Georgia Motor Vehicle Division together: Click

- A completed MV-1
title application - Except for the signature, type, complete
on-line and print or print legibly by-hand in blue or black in
the insurance company's name. An authorized agent of the insurance
company must sign this completed application and enter their position
or job title with the insurance company after their signature.
- Original valid title issued in the insured' name(s) properly
assigned to the insurance company with all recorded liens or security
interests released in the spaces provided on the title;
- A signed letterhead request from the insurance company requesting
a stolen un-recovered vehicle title. This letter
must be signed by the insurance company's authorized agent and
must include: When and where the vehicle was stolen and a complete
description of the vehicle (Year model, make of vehicle, and vehicle
identification number).
- $18 title fee. Pay this fee with a check or money order payable
to Georgia Motor Vehicle Division.
