What is needed to obtain a Georgia title for my mobile or manufactured home?

• A completed MVD Title/Tag Application, Form MV-1 - This application should be typed, electronically completed and printed, or printed legibly by-hand in blue or black ink in the vehicle owner's full legal name, driver's license number and signed by the vehicle owner. If jointly owned, each owner's full legal name and signature is required. An individual's full legal name is their complete name as it appears on their valid driver's license. For individuals, enter each owner's valid driver's license in the spaces provided.

  • If the mobile or manufactured home is a double-wide or a triple-wide, a separate title application is required for each side if a separate title or manufacturer's certificate of origin is issued for each side.
  • If the mobile or manufactured home is a double-wide or triple-wide and the serial number for each side is listed separately on the title or statement of origin, then a separate application is required for each serial number listed.
• Original valid manufacturer's certificate(s) of origin or title(s) issued in your full legal name or properly assigned to you using your full legal name;
• $18.00 title fee is due for each title application;
• $10.00 title penalty is due for each title application, when Georgia title(s) have not been applied for within ninety (90) days of the home's purchase or transfer date.
• $10.00 title penalty is due for each title application, if the purchase or transfer date has been altered on the title or manufacturer's certificate of origin transferring ownership to you the home's owner.
• $10.00 additional title penalty is due for each title application when a Georgia title for this home was previously applied for in your name and was returned requesting additional action before title issuance and compliance has not been made within sixty (60) days of the accompanying letter's date.
• Pay all fees and taxes due with cash, check or money order payable to the Office of the Tax Commissioner. Some counties accept credit cards. Please do not send cash through the mail!

Apply for your title at the tag office in the county in Georgia where your home is located. If ad valorem tax is due, it must be paid at the time of application. Contact your county tag office to determine if ad valorem tax is due, and if due, the amount. You cannot apply for a title for a mobile or manufactured home with this department's Motor Vehicle Division.
