I need my Georgia title now. What can I do?
At this time, this department's Customer
Service Operations of the Motor Vehicle Division is
the only office in this state that provides title processing on
'an as you wait' basis with the required documents, fees,
and identification. There is a $10.00 special handling fee for each
title application processed through this office. This special handling
fee is in addition to any other
title fees or late fees due.

Most title applications applied for at any of the County Tag
Offices in this state, result in the printing and mailing of the
titles by this department's Motor Vehicle Division, within
three- (3) business days of the county's entry and approval at no
additional charge.

In-Person Customer Service Operations
- In-person service is available from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30
p.m. Monday through Friday excluding state
holidays.

- Titles are processed as you wait. Titles that are to be mailed
will not be accepted through the in-person service area.
- There is a $10.00 additional fee charged for each
title application processed through our in-person service. This
fee is in addition to any
title fees or title penalties that may be due.
- Pay all fees due with cash, check or money order made payable
to the Department of Revenue.
- Anyone applying for a title or requesting service on behalf
of another person must submit, at the time of service, an original
properly completed, signed and signature notarized power
of attorney, Form T-8, naming his/her as the person's attorney-in-fact.
A notary public must sign, affix his/her notary seal or stamp
and record the date his/her notary commission expires to this
form. The attorney-in-fact's full legal name is required on
this form.
An individual's
full legal name is his/her complete
name as it appears on his/her valid Georgia driver's license or
Georgia identification card. The attorney-in-fact must show
his/her
valid driver's license
Mail-in Title Service
For title applications, where expedited title issuance is requested,
mail your title application, supporting documents and check or money
order to the following address:

Please do not remit cash
through the mail! Be sure to include the following fees in
your check or money order made payable to the Department of Revenue that are due for each application.
- $10.00 special handling fee;
- $18.00 original title fee or $8.00 replacement
title fee;
- $10.00 title penalty is due if the vehicle owner has failed
to apply for an original Georgia title in his/her name within
ninety (90) days of the vehicle's purchase or
ownership transfer date.
This penalty does not apply if the vehicle's current
title or registration from a non-title state or country is issued
in your name.
- $10.00 additional title penalty is due if you previously applied
for a Georgia title in your name for this vehicle and your application
was returned requesting additional action before
title issuance and compliance has not been
made within sixty (60) days of the accompanying letter's date.
All titles issued through the mail-in expedited service will be
mailed first-class mail.
