In-Person Customer Service Operations
This office does not provide MVR's (motor vehicle reports) or any other service
pertaining to drivers' licenses. Click

This office is a same day customer service operation and was created for the sole
purpose of processing transactions relating to certificates of title, registration
under the International Registration Plan (IRP) and researches of motor vehicle
registration, title and lien records. This office is located at: 1200 Tradeport
Boulevard, Hapeville, Georgia.

An additional $10.00 special handling fee is charged for each title
application submitted to the Customer Service Operations for processing. The office
is generally open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding
state holidays.
Anyone applying for a title or requesting service on behalf of another person must
submit, at the time of service, an original properly completed, signed and
signature notarized limited power of attorney, Form T-8, naming them as the person's
attorney-in-fact. A notary public must sign, affix their notary seal or stamp and
record the date their notary commission expires to this form. The attorney-in-fact's
full legal name is required on the power of attorney form. A natural person's full
legal name is their complete name as it appears on their valid Georgia driver's
license or Georgia identification card. The attorney-in-fact must show their valid
Georgia driver's license or Georgia identification card.
Important: Anyone applying for a title or requesting any other
type of service must be prepared to show their valid Georgia driver's license or
Georgia identification card.
Save money! Apply for your title at the
tax commissioner's office in the county in Georgia of your legal residence. For
business owned and/or operated vehicles, apply for the title at the tax commissioner's
office in the county in Georgia where your business is located. Titles for mobile/manufactured
homes can only be applied for at the tax commissioner's office in the county in
Georgia where the home is located. Most titles applications processed by any of
the 159 county tax commissioners' offices in this state result in the printing and
mailing of the titles by this department's Motor Vehicle Division within three-
(3) business days of the county's entry and approval at no additional charge.
The Motor Vehicle Division's In-Person Customer Service Operations
will perform the completed processing of the following types of title transactions:
Applications supported by a title bond (surety bond)
Applications supported by a court order
Application perfecting a judgment, tax or child support lien
Applications requesting a replacement serial plate
Applications for a salvage title
Applications for a rebuilt title
Note: All transactions require clearance from the National
Crime Information Center (NCIC) prior to title issuance. If NCIC clearance
is not received, a title cannot be issued.
Drop-Off Box
A drop-off box is located in the lobby of the Customer Services Operations
at the Motor Vehicle Division Section, 1200 Tradeport Blvd., Hapeville, Georgia,
and is accessible during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. excluding state holidays. Place the required applications,
supporting documents, fees and a completed Drop-Off Box Transmittal form in a sealed envelope before
placing the envelope in the drop-off box. Pay all fees due with a check or money
order payable to the Department of Revenue. A separate check is required
with each application. Please do not place cash in
the drop-off box!
Applications placed in this drop-off box after 2 p.m. are considered
received the next business day. There is no additional $10.00 special handling
fee required for title applications placed in this drop-off box. All titles issued
from applications placed in the drop-off box are mailed. Any title application not
accepted is returned by mail with a letter explaining why a title cannot be issued

Tag, Title & Lien Records
Motor vehicle tag, title, and lien records may be released to authorized parties

Registration of Vehicles Under the International Registration Plan (IRP)
Vehicles based in Georgia, operating under the International Registration Plan (IRP)
and traveling in Georgia as well as other states/jurisdictions should be registered
with this department's IRP Unit of the Motor Vehicle Division Section. Only limited
