Georgia County Tax Commissioners' Offices
The following services are available at the 159 county tax commissioners'
offices in this state:
- Obtain answers to ad valorem tax, tag, lien and/or title related
questions.
- Apply for original and/or replacement Georgia Certificates of
Title*.
*Most titles applied for at one of the 159 county tax commissioners'
offices in this state are printed and mailed by State Motor Vehicle
Division (MVD) within three-business (3) days of the county's approval
at no additional charge.
- Register and obtain license plates (tags) for your motor vehicles
at your county tax commissioner's office. Click

- Limited consumer information** is available to anyone upon request
with the vehicle's identification number, $.50 research fee and
a self-addressed stamped envelope, for mail-in requests. For more

Only State Motor Vehicle Division, 1200 Tradeport Blvd., Hapeville,
Georgia, issues titles while you wait. Applications submitted to
the in-person Customer Service Operations at State Motor Vehicle
Division (MVD) require the payment of an additional $10 special
handling fee for each application processed through their office.

- Obtain tag, title, and lien forms and/or applications.
- Obtain tag, title and lien records. Computer printouts of tag,
title and lien information on the state's and counties shared
database, G.R.A.T.I.S., Georgia Registration and Title Information

titles and certified copies of tag, title, and/or lien records
can only be obtained from the Research Unit of State Motor Vehicle

Persons requesting service at either State Motor Vehicle Division
or one of the 159 county tax commissioners' offices in this state
will be required to show their valid driver's license or state-issued
identification card to receive service.
