I have moved to another state and I am no longer a Georgia resident.   What do I do with my Georgia tag(s)?   

If you have moved out-of-state and are no longer a Georgia resident, you may do one of the following with your tags:

•  Donate your tags (license plates) to a tag or aluminum recycling program in your state,

•  Return the tags to either the County Tax Commissioner’s Office in the county where you resided in Georgia or to this Department along with a note indicating the reason for returning, or,

•  Use an aluminum tool to cut up the tag and discard the pieces.
