Where to Renew
|
Renew your vehicle's Georgia license plate (tag) at the Tax Commissioner's Tag
Office in the county in Georgia where you currently reside during the owner's
registration period. The owner is the owner shown first on the vehicle's title
or tag registration certificate (for vehicles not requiring a Georgia title).
For a business owned and/or operated vehicle, renew the license plate (tag) at
the Tax Commissioner's Tag Office in the county in Georgia where your business
is located during the owner's registration period.

When to Renew
|

There are three (3) different types of registration systems in Georgia:

Penalties
|
|
In addition to the regular annual license plate registration fee, any ad valorem taxes due, any fees associated with a special license plate, and the $1.00 mailing fee (if your tag or decal is to be mailed to you), the following penalties will be assessed if you fail to renew your vehicle's license plate during your registration period:

|
1) 25% of the license plate fee
|
|
|
2) 10% of the ad valorem tax
|
